Weird cat pictures

Salix trying to spit his tongue out, or something. This cracks me up.

Extra long fangs.

Orangey-blue whiskers

Needing Some Green

I went for a walk along the river today, hoping to capture some nice images in the sunshine. I think I'm just too bored by the whiteness of winter. I got much more excited photographing my houseplants. This is the same burro's tail (Sedum burrito) that I photographed and blogged about last spring. It's fun to see how much it's grown.

Our papyrus (Cyperus albostryatus) is blooming!
It's somehow managed to survive in our house despite being Salix's favourite plant to eat.

Macro of a papyrus flower.

New leaf spiraling out of a Corn palm (Dracaena fragrans)

Socktopus

Here's a fun project I made for a wee little girl named Eula Wren who was born on January 9th.
I got the pattern from knitty.com. It's a great way to use up bits of yarn and I loved the end product. I may have to make more of these little guys.

The Snowblower

It's not just a rumour. We really did get a snowblower. And we really, really like it so far.
This shot is from the January 6th storm, which called for 3 rounds of snowblowing in one day.

Salix is the one member of the Cozy Cabin who is not so fond of the new noisy machine. He thinks shoveling is where it's at. He came out to watch the windows get dug out today.
