Salix is so Cool

Salix has started a new fitness program to go along with his diet. Frisbee is by far his favourite outdoor sport. Chasing rubber bands is still the favourite indoor activity, after eating.

He's only caught one frisbee so far, but he's steadily improving.

He insists that the frisbee thrower gets some exercise as well, so he refuses to return the frisbee (or rubber band). If anyone knows how to teach a cat to fetch... let me know.

Salix stayed home and hid under the carpet with his rubber band all weekend.

La Mauricie National Park

Quebec's beautiful decidous forests.

One of the 120 lakes in La Mauricie.

Forges du St. Maurice National Historic site. Cast iron and iron were made here from 1730 to 1880.

The devil's fountain. Note that the water is on fire on the left.
This is where the devil's hand comes out of the ground every night.

The local brew pub - Le trou du diable. You can order four small tasters that add up to a pint. I was pretty stoked. From left to right: Doppleweizen, Stout, Rauchweizen, Heffeweizen. It was Octoberfest, so they had a lot of German beers on special. All were made in house and all the food was local and yummy as well.
